Here I have just tried another close up photo. I've been ill so have only been eating plain toast all day, which gets very boring! I'm going to see Hugh tomorrow though, whcih should hopefully give me a few ideas and make my blog a bit more interesting for the last week!

Wednesday 30/01

I've tried looking at Martin Parr and taking some photos in the style of him, but so far I have not succeeded. I don't like any of the potos I have taken, so I decided to try some more close up shots today. I will try the Martin Parr stuff again tomorrow, see if I have some inspiration then! Will hopefully get some other tips from Hugh tomorrow, but if anyone else has any ideas of how I can make my photos more interesting, they would be greatly appreciated! I have also had a few technical problems with my digital SLR at the moment, so affraid these photos were taken on a phone camera which was not very good qualtity, which is why they are a bit blury.

Here is the remains of my dinner. I have decided that my photos are still a little flat and I need to experiment a bit more. I have been looking at Martin Parr's photographs of food, and have decided that I need to include people and the action of eating into my photographs. Hopefully this should make them more interesting.

Sorry this post is late, I was having internet issues yesterday.

I found a box of mince pies in my room today that went out of date in December, so thought I'd have a look and see what they were like! The pastry was stale and the filling had solidified!

My Theme

I've decided to photograph peoples' food for my theme. I've always thought that January is the time of year when everyody is watching what they eat after pigging-out over christmas! So I thought I'd look at some of the things the people in my flat are eating, and also what I am eating. I also always find that however much I am craving a certain food, even when I've made it, I will always want someone else's food more!

I thought I'd take a photo of all the housing brochures we're looking at at the moment, because its been on my mind a lot recently. We've spent quite a lot of time in our flat discussing houses and have finally booked some viewings! Its taken us a while but we've finally got off our backsides and done something about it! Quite excited really, and a bit scared as I'm planning my second year at uni already, but it feels like the first has only just begun!

We've been given the new topic of representing our world. So far I havn't really had many ideas, so have just taken a few photos of the halls I live in as I start. Im going to think more about it over the weekend and hopefully develop my ideas a bit more.
